ABOUT ME
I'm a PhD Student in the Computational Language lab at The University Of Arizona, advised by Professor Mihai Surdeanu. Broadly, my research interests are in the area of Natural Language Processing and Fairness. Previously, I was a Data Science Intern with Cox Communications.
I am honored to have been awarded the Google Women Techmaker Scholarship in 2019 and the Asianet Sthree Shakti Awards ( ~ translates to Asianet Women Power awards) nominee in 2016. Beyond academia, I am proud of the societal impact of my work with the Pehia Foundation (2016-2020), a non-profit I cofounded , dedicated to improving women's access, visibility, and growth in computer science and technology in Kerala, India. I have also had the incredible opportunity to speak at various venues, but perhaps the most notable one is TedX TKMCE.
Outside of university, I share my journey as an international student in grad school in the US online. Building on my experiences so far, I offer resources on my website and socials and one-to-one mentoring calls. From time to time, I write technology blogs and opinion pieces. My occasional newsletter reaches close to 200 people.
